Family-Based Immigration

U.S. Immigration law allows certain noncitizens who are family members of U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents to become lawful permanent residents (get a Green Card) based on specific family relationships.

There are several immigration options available for you and your family to obtain the United States permanent residency (green card) card.

You may be eligible for a green card without a job offer, sponsor or investment.

These visas are based on educational and professional background of the applicants. They are not part of Green Card Lottery program.

There is no country of birth restrictions for these permanent residency (green card) applicants, in other words if you are eligible you can apply regardless of your citizenship.

There are two main types of immigration visas that you may be eligible for without a job offer, sponsor or investment.

  • First Preference EB-1 (Employment-Based Immigration)
  • Second Preference EB-2 (Employment-Based Immigration)

Both categories have been viewed with very good eyes by the American immigration authorities, and with each passing day they become more recognized, financially accessible and acquired by qualified people wishing to start a new life in the USA.

The EB-1 is a visa designed for people who have proven extraordinary skills in the fields of arts, science, education, business and athletics. Many doctors, dentists, scientists, artists, entrepreneurs, educators and athletes qualify for this category, as longs as they can meet at least three of a total of ten criteria set by the Immigration Department.

The EB-2 National Interest Waiver category is a visa which grants Green Cards to qualified individuals with unique skills in their areas of expertise or training, and whose presence in the US will contribute to a job market where many key professions are lacking despite the excess of vacancies available. Professionals with at least a baccalaureate degree and more than five years of proven work experience have a high chance of qualifying for this type of visa, especially those with a strong professional and academic background in the areas of Health, Science, Engineering, Technology, Law, Education and many others.
